Clare Doveton obtained her BFA from Parsons School of Art and Design in New York City in 1998. After living and exhibiting on both coasts, Clare moved her studio to Kansas in 2005, where she currently paints in the Warehouse Arts District of Lawrence. Doveton’s work has been featured in Studio Visit Magazine, Present Magazine, Ink Magazine (cover), The Journal, The Kansas City Star, First Intensity Magazine (cover), Lawrence Magazine, and Farmhouse Magazine (cover). Clare’s work can be found in private and corporate collections internationally, including The Art of Emprise, Quest Financial, New School University, NOVA Financial, and others. She has served on the Board of Directors for both the Kansas Zen Center and the Lawrence Arts Center. Clare was nominated as part of the 2014 KC Collection, and selected as the Featured Artist for the Lawrence Arts Center Benefit Art Auction in 2015.
"Living in the country, I am surrounded by the wide open fields and skies of Kansas, which I carry into the studio with me each day. For me, painting is the process of translating these memories of place onto the canvas to convey the heavenly qualities of our everyday experience."
