The Licker

A carved walnut head that licks a two-foot square sponge. A single motor drives three separate actions of the head: Lifting, tilting, and sticking the tongue out. The elaborate gearing system is mesmerizing to watch. Click on image for more pictures.

Headache

When the sculpture is turned on, the figures are beat in the back of the head incessantly. The small hammering machines on their backs hit them about 100 times per minute.
