It is helpful to think of my work as a crossroads, a meeting place for elements that are traveling in different directions, at different speeds. A list of all these elements would be long and obscure, a phone book of the visible and invisible worlds. Under certain conditions, an alignment takes place; a combination of observations and emotions, lasting memories and fleeting qualities of light and space, formal structure and metaphysical musing.

The result (or product, if you prefer) is a painting. Whether the painting can be thought of as a reification, a dance of seven veils, or a car wreck depends on the viewer, and the nature of the elements which are brought together by chance, circumstance, or design.
