Lisa Lala has been immersed in art since birth since both her parents, Wil and Susan, are artists. In fact, in her current show at Strecker-Nelson she is exhibiting with Wil, a sculptor. Growing up in Manhattan, Kansas, Lala was nevertheless raised with a global perspective as her father often took his family to impoverished countries as medical volunteers (Wil was a practicing dentist).

Lisa’s education continued at the University of Kansas where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She subsequently studied abstract painting and creativity with Philomene Bennet in Kansas City and color with Wolf Kahn in New York.

Within the last year Lisa has mounted 3 sold out shows in Kansas City and has set the local art world abuzz with her successes. She has been featured in KC Magazine and The Kansas City Star.

"Each day is filled with moments. Each night we choose which moments to read back to ourselves like bedtime stories. As important as it is to review our concerns in search of solutions, we must also review the beautiful moments and celebrate them."
